Cruise the Canal de Bourgogne in Burgundy, France
Cruise along the Upper Burgundy Canal aboard French Hotel Barge La Belle Epoque (4:09)
The French Hotel Barge La Belle Epoque is a spacious, luxurious hotel barge and sister ship to L'Impressionniste. She originally carried logs from Burgundy to Paris, and was later skilfully converted into a delightful hotel barge. She is now the perfect vessel for cruising the Upper Burgundy Canal with its towpaths that are ideal for walking and cycling.
Construction on the Canal de Bourgogne was completed in 1832, and was considered to be an engineering triumph due to the later additions of tunnels and improvements to the locks. Northern Burgundy is great for those who like to sample a wide variety of experiences and excursions. The Canal de Bourgogne cruises through pastoral countrysides, charming villages, and rambling vineyards.
