SATURDAY - DAY 1 : Cruise from Colombiers to Regismont
Your guide will meet you at your hotel, airport or railway station to bring you to where your luxury barge Emma is moored. Meet the rest of the crew, René, your Captain, Liz, your personal chef and lastly your on board hostess. A champagne reception awaits you and as we cruise off to our first mooring spot, the first of your gastronomic dinners will be prepared.
SUNDAY - DAY 2 : Cruise to Pigasse - Visit L'Oppidum & Capestang Market
Your tour guide will take you off in the minibus to visit the Oppidum d'Ensérune, and a stroll round the Sunday market in Capestang before coming back to the barge for an al fresco lunch on the spacious deck. After lunch we cruise off through the vineyards to a beautiful mooring for your evening dinner.
MONDAY - DAY 3 : Cruise to Le Somail - Visit Minerve
After breakfast we cruise off to Le Somail, probably the most picturesque little hamlet on the canal. After lunch you will be taken into the heart of the Minervois to Minerve which combines spectacular scenery and Cathar history. A quick visit to Oulibo, the local olive co operative and back to the barge for another gastronomic dinner.
TUESDAY - DAY 4 : Cruise to Roubia - Visit Narbonne
The visit this morning is to Narbonne, the bustling town built on Roman ruins with its amazing indoor market. After a seafood lunch extravaganza aboard Emma we will cruise off to Roubia.
WEDNESDAY - DAY 5 : Cruise to Homps - Transfer to La Tour du Château in Ventenac en Minervois
Our cruise this morning takes us through a few of the oval locks for which the Canal du Midi is famous up to Homps. After a luscious lunch you will be transferred to La Tour du Château for the second half of your French experience and your first dinner in the gardens of the château overlooking the Canal with your hosts, Jodi and Peter.
THURSDAY - DAY 6 : The Château - Visit to Carcassonne
Your guide will collect you and take you off to visit Carcassonne, the oldest medieval walled city in Europe and scene of a lot of history. Back to the Château for lunch and a relaxing afternoon by the pool before getting ready for your candlelit dinner.
FRIDAY - DAY 7 : The Château - Cookery Course
A day dedicated to food lovers. Learn how to plan, shop and prepare luscious food to amaze your friends when you get home. Using all fresh, local produce and with a local chef to guide you and share her secrets you can then enjoy the fruits of your labour. Back to La Tour for aperitif and dinner on the terrace.
SATURDAY - DAY 8 : The Château - Wine Tour
This is the day for wine lovers. A trip out to Château Pennautier, a vineyard dating from 1600. Tour the château, which houses furniture which was a gift from the young King Louis X11, have a look at the car collection and then after a full tour of the winery, settle down for a sumptuous picnic accompanied by the fabulous wines from the Château. Back to La Tour for your final dinner.
SUNDAY - DAY 9 : Depart the Château
After breakfast you will be transferred to your departure point for your onward journey.
